Initiation Course: Introduction to Cardboard Furniture
Design and Build with Renowned French Furniture Maker, Christine Boulin!

Course Description
During the 6 weeks of this class Christine will guide you through the techniques of designing and building cardboard furniture. Models will be proposed.
The steps we will cover are:
• principles for designing a piece of furniture
• cutting with a jigsaw
• methods of assembly with cardboard
Sessions 1 and 2 are beginner classes of 6 weeks each where students will learn the basics of making a piece of furniture. The cost of $360 includes all the material (except the finishing). Tuition is due upon registration.
At the end of the class each participant will take home and keep the furniture they have created. No particular skills are required for the class.

For the initiated: Independent Cardboard Furniture
*Students will choose their own projects and will be provided professional assistance in design and construction.
Students will be responsible for providing cardboard; all other material for cutting and assembling is provided.
Registration and Tuition
Independent shop time is available: Wednesdays from 9am to 3pm.
Shop time is $10.00 per hour, to be paid in advance in blocks of 20 hours.

All students will be able to take home and keep the furniture at the conclusion of the course. Classes will be held in the JK Chicago workshop, located at 1800 W. Cuyler Ave., in Ravenswood.
*New students must complete the introductory Course 1 offered by Christine Boulin.
