Louis H. Sullivan revolutionized design sensibilities when he insisted that "form follow function". This statement remains a central tenet of the JK Chicago design philosophy.
Inspired by the classic American Mission style of the early 1900's, Master Craftsman Jeff Payne creates original pieces that combine the fluidity of Asian line with the sturdy simplicity of his hometown Chicago roots. Using simple decorative motifs, JK Chicago's original designs emphasize the inherent beauty of carefully selected hardwoods, elemental forms and classic American style. A variety of custom finishes are available.
All pieces are individually designed and built by Master Craftsman Jeff Payne using mortise and tenon, tongue and groove, and dovetail joinery. JK Chicago's furniture and cabinetry are heirloom quality; made to be used and enjoyed for generations.
