Design for Living

Louis H. Sullivan revolutionized design sensibilities when he insisted that "form follow function". This statement remains a central tenet of the JK Chicago design philosophy.

Using simple decorative motifs, JK Chicago's original designs emphasize the inherent beauty of carefully selected hardwoods, elemental forms and classic American style. All furniture and custom installations are made with either rift and quartersawn* White Oak or Cherry. A variety of custom finishes are available.

All pieces are individually designed and built by Master Craftsman Jeff Payne using mortise and tenon, tongue and groove, and dovetail joinery. JK Chicago's furniture and cabinetry are heirloom quality; made to be used and enjoyed for generations.
